LEFT: Unusual handkerchief trim gives a look of fine French lingerie. The ribbon-trimmed ruffle is made of eighteen cotton handkerchiefs stitched on the show their embroidered-net hems. Petticoat is Bates Disciplined cotton.

RIGHT: Look your ladylike loveliest in a wonderfully decorative, bouffant petticoat. The stiff skirt juts out sharply from a tiny waist, ends in a ripling, eyelet-edged flounce made of permanently pleated Everfast cotton.

CENTER: Wear-with-everything petticoat has a slender torso, flounces of embroidered eyelet cotton to give it a modified flare. Flounces are beaded with blue satin ribbon. Embroidered fabric by Samuel Ehrman Co.

FAR RIGHT: Poised little petticoat with a completely feminine air. Hip yoke and hem are of a pink-and-white-checked cotton; the skirt is of a stiff white Formite interfacing. Simplicity Printed Pattern 3739.
