[September 12, 1953]  The full bouffant skirt had interwoven tucking bands and tiny wax flowers. Her grandmother’s heirloom rose point lace veil was attached to her hair with orange blossoms amid a tiara of lace. Her jewelry was simple… and expensive: a perfect strand of pearls from her family, a diamond leaf pin from her new in-laws, and a diamond bracelet given to her by the groom the evening before the wedding. Her engagement ring, from Van Cleef & Arpels, was comprised of a 2.88 carat diamond and a 2.84 carat emerald with tapered baguettes.
