Kristi (2014):
"The band is
Wire, from the U.K., begun in 1977 or so with the punk
movement, but quickly turned towards more abstruse lyrics
and sound, sometimes stream of
consciousness
thoughts like a Venn diagram where the only
place all of the lyrics intersect is the actual topic, which
is avoided. Seriously poetic, The song is “Drill”, from
the CD: A Bell Is a Cup
(Until It Is Struck). The
version on this CD was recorded live in Chicago, June 20th,
1987, at Cabaret Metro, with yours truly in
attendance.
"Anyway,
here is the link
to Susanne Somers in a dress to die for, introducing Wire.
They gave her a bit of a hard time after the song, but she
evidently did not take the
time to chat
with the band beforehand. Besides, the answers
Bruce Gilbert gave were pretty funny for low key answers if
you took the time to consider them - Suzanne evidently
wanted ‘kooky’-ish answers, the antithesis of the music.
Still, one awesome dress!"
