Some responses to Lou's earlier query:

SoTe:  "I am not revolted by seeing black panties under white petticoats, but I would rather see white or pastel panties.
A much better combination of the colors of black and white would be white panties and black petticoat(s)."

Jeremy: "I think that black stockings can look very attractive under a full white petticoat. I like the colour of underwear to be matching, but do the
stockings count? I'm not sure that they do. I think the stockings can be black but all the other underwear could be matching white, red, black, or whatever, so long as NONE of it can be seen! Let's see plenty of the petticoat but maintain the allure by keeping everything else out of sight."

Iris: "I am definitely for uniform color for all underwear, so OK white, black, pink, or even light blue, but everything of the same color, under.
Other problem: do you approve the same color both for dress and petticoat and underwear? I don't like that at all, for a precise reason: everything looks
like being part of  the dress, if the color is uniform. While I like to see a difference: a petticoat should not be supposed to be a part of a visible dress."

"I have learned that in the Saturday Night Live episode dated October 27th, 1990 (starring - Patrick Swayze, Mariah Carey, and Lisa Niemi), there is a skit called 'Dirty Square Dancing.' I understand that it is quite special. Has anyone seen it, and does anyone have a copy of  it, or know if it's available?"

~~ COMMENTARY ~~

A new phenomenon has come upon the scene, and we thought we would make a few remarks.   Replies are invited.

Recently individuals have begun posting petticoat pictures on various venues, similar to a site called “Photobox”.  Normally this would not be unusual, and we would not comment except in cases where the pictures have been stolen and re-posted.  This is generally not the case here.

The pictures under discussion are of two types:  First are the ones which are pretty nicely presented, except that they show ladies, mostly celebrities, many of whom never wore a petti in their lives.  The posters have changed the pictures to show a flurry of pettis.  That is their right.  All in fun.  However, there should be a disclaimer, so that people do not get the wrong historical idea.  Women who wore pettis, and were known for that, should be posted, and so be given accolades.  But, we are in danger of making some think that the altered images were of ladies that really WERE “petti-ladies", when they were not.  In turn, is it too much to ask that a disclaimer be added to the effect that they were not, that these are altered images?  Let’s protect history here.

Secondly, some of the pictures are genuine, but blurred beyond recognition.  Highly unsatisfying.  Perhaps they should omitted?

What do YOU think?

"Here's great video of square dancing young people (for a change) who are really giving their pettis a workout.
Love to see two ladies dancing together (my personal dream)."

Richard has penned these provocative thoughts:

"I think this photo is an amazing testament to our imaginations... why is it that this photo that shows nothing below the shoulders is still so enticing? They could have been wearing jeans, but perhaps our imagined vision of the lace-trimmed full skirts with billowing, silky-soft pettis that they might  be wearing is all we need. I do believe that Poufies (and other fetishists) have much more vivid  imaginations than our 'plain vanilla' friends!"
[ED: Amen!]
