"You will see why I enjoyed clogging so much,
especially at these conventions."

Ace writes: "Have you checked out the
Brian P Dougherty page?
There are heaps more videos there - I've
saved at least a dozen. You've especially gotta check out Moira's
B-Day 1957;
I would kill to have been at that party, OMG, all those lovely little dresses...I just wish I was a young girl in 1957!" |
June Flowers writes:
"I thought I
knew every version of 'Rock Around the Clock' that had ever been
released. BUT never seen
this before.
Thought your readers might just be interested." |

Linda points
to this rather interesting, but oddly-worded 'eBay
guide' (now defunct) dealing with petticoats.
"It declared that there (in 2008) was some kind of petticoat 'craze' sweeping the world (were it so! ... although there certainly is a certain amount of haute couture interest these days), and proceeds from there, ending the article with the word 'fad' (perhaps the writer is attempting to 'hype' her sales)." |
"I know exactly the emotions shown by the fact that she likes the old
style tulle ballroom dresses. They just seem to have disappeared
from Earth! I've tried all ways to try to
find out where they
all went with the object of purchasing, and I've still not got a
clue after
25 years of searching. Also, the BBC's Come Dancing program
ran in that genre for many years, but the only footage I know of it
is in
the video I have previously highlighted on The Pond. So
another question is, 'Where has all the film gone?' I tried the BBC
and they said
it was either destroyed or taped over. SHAME I say!!!
Tessy: Conspiracy lurking there! |
A visitor was looking at a picture of ballroom dancers from the '70s,
and a thought occurred
to her:
"What happened to all those gorgeous old gowns, with their hundreds of yards of tulle? Surely they weren't all thrown out. How come there are never any for sale on eBay? Does anyone know where one can get the genuine article?" |
